Equality & Diversity

“What is the difference between equality and diversity?”

Equality:

  • Creating a fairer society where everyone can participate and have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, ensuring no one is disadvantaged; and
  • Refers to fairness and in particular to universal access, (e.g. to employment, healthcare etc).

Diversity:

  • Recognising and valuing the differences between an institution, workforce or society; and
  • Valuing and celebrating peoples’ differences and addressing their different needs.

We are one of the top organisations for diversity. Our commitment to equality and diversity has been recognised at a national awards event.
