‘Handyvan’ launches in North Lincs

A brand new business will launch in North Lincolnshire this month, which aims to help future entrepreneurs and company owners to gain vital experience and knowledge.

Handyvan will provide services including decorating, gardening, small house jobs, fencing, cleaning and more. It will be run by individuals who have aspirations of setting up on their own, but need experience and understanding to do so.

The businesses is based Scunthorpe and will cover the North Lincolnshire area. No job is too small, and employees are happy to help at a time that suits you.

John Cavill, Handyvan Coordinator said: “We’re delighted to finally be launching this fantastic project.

“It will really give employees the understanding of how a business works, so that they can eventually move on and set up themselves.

“It’s great for our clients to know that any profit will be reinvested into making this happen too. We can’t wait to get started and if you need any jobs doing, please just give us a call, we’d be happy to help.”

Funding for the project has been provided by us and we will also provide mentoring, qualifications and support to create business plans through our Sparc project.

Maryanne Fitzgerald, our Enterprise and Engagement Manager said: “Handyvan isn’t like any other local business and we’re so proud of those that have helped to set it up.

“To know that when you use the business, you’re also giving something back to the community is a real selling point and we’re over the moon to see how people and other businesses are really getting behind this.

“Our Sparc project is set up to help people launch their own business or go self-employed, so we will continue to support Handyvan and those wanting to do just that.”

Along with individuals, Handyvan will also be working to get businesses on board. Corrboard are one of their first clients who will be outsourcing their gardening and landscaping provision to the new business.
