Post Office to remain in Westcliff

We are pleased to announce that a Post Office will be included within The Arc as part of the brand new Westcliff development.

This decision comes following discussions with us and The Post Office as to whether it would be a viable business decision to move the Post Office into the new community building. On Wednesday 14 February, following a presentation and  interview with  the Post Office applications team  it was confirmed that the Post Office will be moving into The Arc in Spring 2018.

The three staff working in the current Post Office will move over to the new one when it opens.

As part of our £9million regeneration project, the Post Office will be open for business Monday to Saturday, and will offer the same services as the existing Post Office located in the Coop on the Precinct.

Jan Williams, Head of Community Investment here at Ongo, said: “It’s brilliant that we have been able to include a Post Office within the Westcliff regeneration project. We know this is a service that the tenants living in Westcliff really value within their community and it would be hugely missed if it had to close.

“The Post Office will be based in The Arc; a community space where everyone will be welcome. Along with the Post Office it will have a pre-school, cafe, youth zone, enterprise area and private meeting rooms for the whole community to use. This is alongside the One Stop shop, Coop Pharmacy and three other retail units. There will also be 41 new homes as part of the wider regeneration project.”

James Main, Chair of Ongo Communities Board, added: “This is great news that through the team we have been able to keep a valuable resource for the community and further enhance the services offered at The Arc. This is an exciting time for the area, and the Ongo Communities Board is committed to enhancing facilities and amenities across the North Lincolnshire area for our residents.

“We’re encouraging the community to get involved to help us develop an area that is both inviting and functional that residents want to use. The Post Office was certainly a key request from residents and we hope to see it well used by all.”
