We have again been awarded the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) accreditation, for our quality advice and support services.

AQS is the quality stamp for organisations that provide advice to the public on social welfare issues. In order to secure the accreditation, organisations must be accessible and employ staff trained to deal with the needs of customers.

Holding the accreditation since 2015, we’ve been awarded it again after an in depth assessment was carried out by Recognising Excellence, on our services and in house teams.

We provide a range of advice for customers including:

  • Applying for benefits or applying for reconsiderations
  • Setting up utilities, or changing providers if they chose
  • Budgeting
  • Maintaining a tenancy
  • Signposting to additional services
  • Completing application forms

In the official AQS report it states: “There are a number of areas of good practice where the organisation has exceeded the requirements of to a significant extent. This is most encouraging as it demonstrates the organisation strives to operate above the requirements of the standard where possible.”

Helen Wright, Support Services Manager said: “My team do a fantastic job every day in supporting our customers, so it’s great to be recognised for that. It gives people the confidence to come to us if they need support and we’re very pleased to have retained it.”

The Advice Quality Standard is awarded by the Advice Services Alliance.
