Scunthorpe homes given police award for security

37 homes on Station Road, Scunthorpe have been given a Gold Secured by Design award for the layout and safety features included on the site.
Secured by Design is a police organisation that works with businesses to reduce crime through the design of their new homes and developments. Their aim is to help people live in a safer society.
The initiative provides a recognised standard for all security products that can deter and reduce crime.
Station Road was celebrated for the layout and design of the scheme including road layout, footpath design, dwelling boundaries, car parking and external lighting. The physical security of the dwellings were also assessed including doors and windows which were installed to the recommended ‘Police Preferred Specification’.
Tracey Rokhar, Designing out Crime Officer, Humberside Police said: “Station road is such a wonderful for the local community”
“I worked with Ongo and GS Kelsey to ensure these standards were put into place and everyone should be so proud of themselves for the work they have done.
