We appoint our next Chief Executive

We have appointed Steve Hepworth as our next Chief Executive.

He will take over from Andy Orrey, who is retiring after 10 years working here at Ongo.

Steve has worked here since we formed as North Lincolnshire Homes in 2007 and has been a key player in the growth and development of Ongo as a leading housing provider and Sunday Times Top 100 employer in North Lincolnshire.

Previously, whilst working for North Lincolnshire Council, Steve led the team responsible for consultations with tenants that established North Lincolnshire Homes as a housing association and transferring the 10,000 homes from the council to the new company.

North Lincolnshire Homes rebranded as Ongo in 2015.

In total, Steve has over 20 years experience in social housing – starting his career as a rent recovery officer at Wakefield Metropolitan District Council back in 1990.

In announcing the appointment, Chair of Ongo Partnership, David Hilditch, said: “Selecting the right person to succeed Andy as our Chief Executive was vital for the whole Ongo partnership.

“We held an open and very challenging recruitment process which means we can be sure we’ve made the right choice. 

“Steve succeeded excellently well and is the right person to be leading Ongo in the years ahead. I am delighted for him and for Ongo and congratulate Steve on his achievement.

“I look forward to working with him in his new role.”

The exact date for Steve to step into the role is yet to be determined but is likely to be before April 2018.
