We've won some E&D awards

We were announced as winners in the National Centre for Diversity (NCFD) Grand Awards 2018 last night (18 January).

Shortlisted in three categories, the EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) Lead of the Year, UK’s Most Inspiring Individual of the Year and UK Steering Group of the Year Ongo was crowned winner in the EDI Lead of the Year and Steering Group of the Year.

The NCFD awards aim to celebrate the passion, dedication and hard work of organisations to promote the importance of equality and diversity and ensure it is embedded within their own business.

We are recognised as a Leader in Diversity and hold the accreditation for this from the National Centre for Diversity. We achieved this for our dedication and commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace. We promote equality and diversity through quarterly meetings with staff and tenants, awareness days and events on different topics. Most recently a refugee awareness event was held at our HQ.

Karen Cowan, Head of Customer Service and Support, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been announced as the winners in two of the categories, especially with the high standard of other organisations that were also shortlisted.

“We take equality and diversity very seriously here at Ongo, and we work hard to make sure our staff, tenants and contractors share this same understanding. It is amazing to have been crowned winners in EDI Lead and for our Steering Group to be named group of the year. I’m so proud of all the staff involved.”
