We're celebrating our safety and compliance ‘Rising Star’ Emma
Emma Atkinson, Property Compliance Officer here at Ongo has been awarded the ‘Rising Star’ award at this year’s ASCP Safety and Compliance awards.
The annual ASCP Safety and Compliance awards are the only ones dedicated to safety and compliance in the social housing and facilities management sectors. This year they took place on 23 September, at the 2021 ASCP Safety and Compliance Conference.
The ‘Rising Star’ award, gives recognition to an individual for their hard work and dedication. It highlights those not only making a difference in their organisation, but contributing to positive changes for tenants and the industry.
Emma has worked extensively with Humberside Fire and Rescue around Ongo’s high rise buildings, coordinating site visits and training for the firefighters. Emma continues to carry out this vital partnership work to ensure the lines of communication remain open and information is shared effectively.
Upon winning, Emma commented: “I am so excited and in shock to have been awarded ‘Rising Star’. It’s a huge personal achievement for me and I’m over the moon.
“There are so many amazing people in the industry, so it’s an absolute honour to be acknowledged alongside them.
“The work I do wouldn’t be possible without a fantastic team and partners like Humberside Fire and Rescue, so a big thanks has to go to them too.”
Pete Stones, Property Director at Ongo said: “I am extremely proud of Emma and all she has achieved. She goes above and beyond in her role, and it’s fantastic she has been recognised for this.
“We’re excited to see where Emma’s career goes over the coming years, and as an organisation, are delighted to be behind her progression all the way.”
Ongo’s Phillippa Sturdy was also shortlisted in the ‘Women in Safety and Compliance’ category at the awards. To find out more about them go to: www.safetyandcomplianceconference.com.
