We are currently recruiting for a leading local solicitor who are currently strengthening their Conveyancing Team.

Conveyancing Fee Earner

The role would be based in Scunthorpe

Permanent Position

Salary will be £25-30K p.a. depending on experience.

Main job purpose: To take responsibility for conveyancing files and bring them to completion in a timely manner and in the best interests of the client.

Responsibilities:

Act in a professional manner at all times with clients, referrers, insurers, colleagues and all others with whom you come in to contact during the course of your work and develop strong relationships with them.

Demonstrate relevant expertise, motivation and work ethic to handle a caseload of both litigated and non-litigated matters from allocation to settlement, working over contracted hours if necessary to achieve monthly and annual targets.

Make full use of the firm’s case management system to ensure that all matters are up do date; time spent accurately recorded; key dates and limitation dates entered as appropriate

Ensure that all processes and procedures are undertaken are in accordance with the Office Manual and are compliant with all current legislation.

To deal with Solicitor telephone calls, to complete title checks, drafting contracts, raising enquiries, preparing search reports, completing reports on title, checking mortgage offers, raising/checking leasehold enquiries

Key dating files and tasks wherever needed, double checking files are complete prior to exchange and completion, preparing CHAPS and sending to Accounts, completion of registration, ensuring Register is correct/entering on STARS/TAB and deleting case if necessary

It is also your responsibility to update STARS, Title Absolute, Liberate (case and progress) and the quality plan at every stage you are involved with

Ensure that all processes and procedures are undertaken are in accordance with the Office Manual and are compliant with all current legislation.

Keep up to date with all changes in legislation and attend any internal or external training courses needed to maintain your professional knowledge and expertise

Following monthly audit of files by the Head of Department, attend a meeting to discuss any matters arising

Accept any additional responsibility as may reasonably be required by the firm

Be pro-active at annual appraisals.

This is key role within the team and experience within in a similar position is required. Knowledge and understanding of conveyancing and proven experience of a similar fee earning position.
