We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, who is based in Scunthorpe for a permanent Warehouse Operative.

This role is working Monday - Friday (flexible 1pm finish Friday), and is 37.5 hours per week. This includes 25 days per year annual leave + 8 bank holidays.

The salary range for this position is £16-18k pa, dependant on experience.

Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for the receipt, storage and dispatch of all  materials. The department is responsible for the handling of high value and sensitive equipment; you must therefore have excellent materials handling skills learnt through previous qualifications and experience. Based out of the Scunthorpe depot, you will be expected to have a flexible approach along with excellent housekeeping.


Principal Accountabilities:

This position is responsible for the loading / unloading of vehicles whilst complying with current company quality assurance and health and safety procedures.

Ensuring that all equipment is maintained and used in an appropriate and safe manner whilst reporting any defects immediately.

Responsible for the correct receipt of materials and ensuring that they are received in compliance with the purchase order and are in a serviceable condition whilst reporting immediately any faults or non-compliance.

Ensure we keep a high level of stock accuracy, ensuring correct stock batches are picked and issued.

To participate in stock counting both perpetual and annual paying great attention to detail.

Assist with the receipts of returned and faulty materials from customers.

You are responsible for completion of all documentation both hard copies and computerized whilst ensuring that they are completed in line with current company procedures.

Take ownership of all housekeeping ensuring that the department is kept at a high standard of cleanliness, organisation, materials and equipment are stored in its allocated location and waste goods are disposed of promptly and in the appropriate manner.

Coordinating the requisition of stock products and managing stock levels at an efficient level.

To take ownership of the timely picking of materials to maintain the availability of materials into production and other departments.

Accountable for the correct documentation being attached to all finished products and the timely dispatch of goods in line with the quoted due date.

Where ever necessary the ordering of courier services and the completion of the correct documentation.

The management of the correct sizes of cartons, crates and pallets ensuring they are available on time for the dispatch of products.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the departmental compliance of current quality assurance and health and safety procedures.

Assist in Project Based activities such as continuous improvement, Lean, 5S etc.

Develop and maintain working relationships across the company to allow effective team working

Carry out any task or assignment linked to this position as directed by the Logistics Manager or senior members of the team.

The primary job role is to deliver solutions to internal and external customers, so you will be responsible for representing the company and being an ambassador on a daily basis. Qualifications and experience:

To be successful in this role you will require strong organisational skills and work in a methodical manner. The role is very demanding and fast moving with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

NVQ or equivalent qualification in warehouse and distribution.

Windows based I.T. skills & Confident in using Microsoft office.

Counter balance fork truck license desirable.

Articulated fork truck license.

Manual handling qualification.

5+ years experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
