One Stop Shop signs up

One Stop is to be part of a £9 million regeneration plan for Westcliff, Scunthorpe.

One Stop will be the largest retailer as part of the complex and there are also plans for five smaller retail units as well as 41 new homes.

The company has agreed a lease of 15 years and will provide National Lottery tickets, PayPoint and an external ATM cash machine as well as everyday essentials, fresh fruit and veg and meal deals.

The shop will be open seven days a week.

As part of the regeneration project, there will also be a Community Wellbeing and Enterprise Hub with new pre-school, youth space, community cafe, training kitchen, one-to-one support and a new home for the Westcliff Drop in Centre.

The work is due to start on  the hub and retail units in late 2016/early 2017 and completed in January 2018.

Pete Stones, Head of Regeneration at Ongo, said: “These are exciting times ahead for Westcliff and the regeneration of the precinct area. Now One Stop has agreed to be part of the shopping parade, we can really see plans coming into fruition.

“We’re investing millions of pounds in this much-needed and long awaited transformation of the precinct and working with residents we have created plans which offer people what they need on their doorstep.”

Mark Williams, Retail, Property & Distribution Director at One Stop, said: “We’re delighted to be part of the regeneration plan for the Westcliff area and to be the largest retailer to support the businesses and homes in the development. We pride ourselves in giving great customer service in each and every one of our stores and look forward to being part of this new community.”

Rob Waltham, deputy leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: "The regeneration plans for Westcliff will make a huge difference to people's lives and instil a sense of pride in the area. This latest announcement is further commitment by all involved in bringing these major plans to life. One Stop will act as a catalyst in attracting further retail shops to the centre of Westcliff."
