£10,000 raised for charity

Our staff and tenants from have raised thousands of pounds for charities throughout the year.

The Samaritans, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Jerry Green's Dog Rescue and The Forge have all received donations, along with several others, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Help for Heroes, Teenage Cancer Trust.

Fundraisers have included a charity quiz night, hosting and supporting tenant events, cake sales and supporting national campaigns such as Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer Now and Sport Relief.

One of the biggest cash donations came from this year’s Lindsey Lodge Dubble Bubble event, in which 37 of our staff members took part.

Andy Hirst, Corporate Fundraising & Events Coordinator for Lindsey Lodge, said: “Over the years we have built a strong relationship with Ongo and we cannot thank them enough for their support. This year has been the best yet and they’ve raised an amazing £3,000 for the care of local people with life-limiting illnesses.

“Ongo got a big team together for our summer Dubble Bubble event, they kindly donated to us from a staff survey and most recently provided Christmas goodies for our festive lunches.

“We’re looking forward to working with them again next year to enable the vital care for patients and loved ones to continue.”

Andy Orrey, Chief Executive at Ongo, said “Here at Ongo we’re all about helping local communities, so knowing that over £10,000 has been raised for charities that help those people makes us all very proud.

“I’d like to thank the staff and tenants of Ongo for all the hard work and generosity and I hope we can continue to work together to make a difference.

“Next year we will be celebrating our 10th birthday with lots of events and activities, so hopefully we can match or exceed our charity total in 2017. Keep an eye out for more information.”
