Awards night for tenants

Our annual Ongo awards night took place on Wednesday 30 November at Heslam Park, Scunthorpe, attracting more than 50 tenants.

The event recognised and rewarded the brilliant work tenants and volunteers do to support Ongo and their local communities.

Tenants and volunteers were awarded in six categories, including Resident Group of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

Following the awards there was a pie and pea supper, entertainment and a disco.

Karen Cowan, Head of Customer and Support Services, said: “Our annual awards are a great way to get our tenants, volunteers and staff together for a fun evening of food, entertainment and, of course, the all important award ceremony.

"It’s always a brilliant evening and a great chance for us to say thank you to those tenants who have really supported our organisation over the last 12 months. This year was no different with lots of tenants enjoying the evening together.

“It’s always so hard to pick the winners in each category, but it’s also really enjoyable to have the opportunity to look back and reflect on the last 12 months, and how our tenants really do help to shape our organisation.”

Janine Garner, an Ongo Homes tenant and chair of our tenants group Community Voice, said: “The awards evening is a great chance for us all to get together with other tenants and Ongo Homes staff and celebrate what we’ve all achieved throughout the year.

“It also makes all the volunteering we do so worthwhile."
