Festive donations in Christmas campaign
Festive donations were handed over to Lindsey Lodge Hospice as part of our ‘25 days of Christmas’ campaign.
Chocolates, wine, soft drinks and Christmas crackers were all donated by our staff for Christmas lunches for those who will be in Lindsey Lodge Hospice over the festive period.
Andrew Hirst, Corporate Fundraiser and Events Coordinator for Lindsey Lodge, said: “We make our patients feel extra special during the festive period and Ongo has helped to do just that with an array of kindly donated goodies that all can enjoy.
“Our patients with life-limiting illnesses are offered a three course homemade Christmas dinner with all the trimmings followed by entertainment from local school choirs and musicians who give up their time for free.
“Even during Christmas Day the hospice is open 24 hours for patients who are too poorly to go home and we also offer loved ones the opportunity to stay over in our purpose built family accommodation.”
Coral Stamp, Ongo's Health and Safety Administrator, said: “We wanted to get involved and support Lindsey Lodge as part of our 25 Days of Christmas campaign. Lindsey Lodge is a brilliant cause that supports so many people in the local area, so for us to be able to help them over Christmas time means a lot.”
Other activities taking place in the Ongo 25 days of Christmas include a festive bake off to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, collecting food for local food banks, visiting local charities to deliver festive treats, holding the Ongo Big Christmas Lunch for our older tenants and donating festive treats to local dog and cat rescue centres.
