We are one of the top organisations for diversity

Our commitment to equality and diversity has been recognised at a national awards event.

Over 600 organisations from across the country apply for the Investors in Diversity Accreditation from the National Centre for Diversity and we've been ranked 33.

In order to achieve the accreditation all staff members undertook a survey to find out their understanding and commitment to equality and diversity. The training offered to staff, our policies and also our special awareness events were assessed.

The announcement was made at The National Centre for Diversity Grand Awards on Wednesday 20 January in Birmingham.

Karen Cowan, Head of Customer and Support Services and Equality & Diversity Champion, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been recognised on a national stage for our commitment to diversity.

“We work really hard to make sure our staff, tenant volunteers and Board Members are treated fairly and that equality and diversity is fully considered in all that we do.

“All staff are encouraged to challenge inappropriate behaviour and through training such as cultural awareness events, Dementia Friends and mentoring scheme we are building a more understanding workforce.”
