Fancy a cuppa for Dementia UK?

Our Support Team has organised 17 different events from 1 to 8 March to help raise awareness and money for Dementia UK.

Events will be held at each of the sheltered/retirement schemes for residents to get involved in, and one at the head office, where cakes, tea and coffee will be on sale. The events will allow residents and staff to come together to socialise, raising awareness and money for a great cause.

During the events, Ongo Dementia Friends will be on hand to answer any questions that tenants might have. Most staff are Dementia friends, which means they have undergone training to ensure they know the basics about Dementia. More training sessions are planned to take place later in the year.

Helen Wright, Support Team Manager at Ongo, said: “With an ageing population, Dementia is on the increase.  We are aiming to raise awareness as well as funds to help those with a Dementia diagnosis and their families.

“The Support Team see first hand the effect Dementia can have on an individual and their family, that’s why we work so hard to understand how we can help and improve our service."
