Celebrating 50 years of Market Hill
Market Hill residents celebrated their homes turning 50 years old with the special unveiling of a mosaic designed by local school children.
Friday 7 October marked 50 years since Market Hill was officially opened. Ongo residents celebrated the occasion by holding a special event with the unveiling of a mosaic designed by children of the Scunthorpe Church of England primary school.
Members of the Market Hill Resident Association were joined by the school children, Ongo residents and staff as well as Young Mayor Kian Borg-Jackson.
Steve Hepworth, our Director of Operations, said: “The event today was really well organised by the Resident Association, it was great to see other residents at the unveiling.
“Ongo has spent a lot of money over the years to improve and regenerate the Market Hill area to transform this town centre location into a modern, fresh looking place to live.
“Seeing lots of tenants out to celebrate Market Hill being open for 50 years shows that this really is an area people are proud to live, and there’s a real sense of community spirit.”
