Quiz raises £1,300 for Teenage Cancer Trust

A quiz night supported by Ongo raised more than £1,300 for the Teenage Cancer Trust on Thursday 20 October.

One hundred and fifty tickets were sold for the event which took place at the Wortley House Hotel,  Scunthorpe, and with raffle ticket sales of more than £600 the total raised was £1,305.

The event was organised in memory of local teenager Ayshea Singh who died in July 2014 at just 16.

Leah Gillott, Marketing Assistant at Ongo and organiser of the event, said: “The quiz night was a fantastic event and it was brilliant to see such a good turnout to support Ayshea’s chosen charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust. The charity supported Ayshea so much, so it’s great to be able to give something back to them.

“I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the local businesses that supported the event, Ongo for sponsoring it, The Wortley House Hotel for donating the room and many others that donated fantastic raffle prizes that helped boost our fundraising total.”

Craig Flynn, Duty Manager of the Wortley House Hotel, said: “The evening was such a great success and very well organised and we were very pleased to be hosting this special event”
