The Bike Project
This project offers skills and experience, along with the chance to work with a small team to help build bikes up and make them road worthy.
You will spend six week sessions working on an old bike of your choosing from a range of bikes donated to the project. You will then be assisted to refit the bike under the guidance of a fully qualified Bike Technician. Once repaired, the bikes will be checked and signed off as ‘road legal’ then passed on to jobseeker's who have secured paid work, but need transport to get there.
We're always on the lookout for more bikes to be donated to the project. We build them up, so it doesn't matter if they're in used condition. Other donations that would be greatly appreciated include tools, thin oils, part bikes, tyres and inner tubes, if you think you can help please get in touch.
Growing & Learning
The Growing and Learning Project is about using a mix of gardening and education to give opportunities to local people. We work on allotments and in community gardens and provide a range of different skills including growing food and learning how to cook it to provide tasty meals.
You will learn new skills, develop confidence and improve your health and wellbeing. You can take what you’ve learnt forward, into your own gardens or horticultural employment.
