Traineeships
You can apply for a traineeship if you are:
- Aged between 16 and 18
- Not currently in education, employment or training

What is a traineeship?
A traineeship through Ongo is a 10-12 week work placement with a local organisation, working 16 hours a week within the business and then receiving 5 hours per week training time.
By completing a traineeship, you will gain work experience, skills and knowledge in a particular sector, as well as receiving training.
Your training will include CV writing, interview prep and employability skills to help you with getting a job afterwards. You will also benefit from learning on the job skills and functional skills as well as making your CV look more attractive to employers by having first-hand experience in a work environment.
Placements will be available in the following areas:
- Catering & hospitality
- Maintenance
- Administration
- Customer Service
Is financial support available?
Whilst the traineeship is unpaid, we can provide financial support to you during your traineeship.
