£20,000 up for grabs for community groups
For the tenth year in a row, we are encouraging local groups to apply for their share of £20,000 as part of our community grants project. £10,000 of this is from Ashbridge Roofing in partnership with Ongo Communities.
Since launching back in 2012, the project has supported more than 100 groups and in total more than £100,000 has been donated.
Whether it’s a boxing club, dance group, resident association, sports club or another community focused group, as long as you’re based in areas where we have tenants, you’re welcome to apply.
Applications will be open from 31 January until 28 February and groups can apply for up to £2,000.
Entries must be made by submitting a short video to explain what the money would be spent on, and how it would support our tenants and the wider community.
To apply, groups must be:
- Based in areas where we have tenants
- A not for profit group
- Constituted and have a bank account
Tackling it Together (Part of Scunthorpe Rugby Club), Steelers Wheelers Sports Club, Scunthorpe Men in Sheds, Appleby Frodingham Amateur Swim Club, Helpful Hampers, EcoSerenity Project (Barton) CIC, 2nd Ashby Brownies, LIVES and Keadby Juniors Football Club have all previously benefitted from the project.
Kerry Copson, our Community Development Manager, said: “We’re so excited to be able to bring back our community grants again for 2022.
“Each year we seem to get even more amazing applications, which is just fantastic. We’re delighted knowing that the extra bit of funding will make a huge difference to the lives of local people, young and old.”
There will be a judging panel to decide which groups receive funding, made up of Ongo Board members, staff and tenants.
Successful groups will be announced in April 2022.
