We are looking to build seven accessible homes across six sites in North Lincolnshire.

Working in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council, this plan will provide much needed fully wheelchair designed accessible housing in the region for families to live more independently in much more suitable homes for their needs.

One site in Westcliff, Scunthorpe has already been approved for planning, with the other five sites still in the early stages awaiting approval. They will be two and three bedroom bungalows in Scunthorpe and Brigg.

They will be built on land owned by Ongo and North Lincolnshire Council and will be funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and North Lincolnshire Council

Martin Phillips, Development Manager here at Ongo, said: “It’s great news to see this project progressing and to have planning permission granted for the first site. We’re aiming to get on site by the end of the year.

“There is a big demand for accessible homes in North Lincolnshire, and this project will really help to support people needing adapted homes.”

Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Accessible homes are critical in supporting families to adapt to changes in medical conditions.  Through this investment we are helping to provide in North Lincolnshire homes that will help families live more independently.

“Work on the first property in Marlowe Road will soon be underway and we hope to see families enjoying their new home in the New Year.”
