Big Christmas lunch for tenants

Our annual Big Christmas Lunch took place on Tuesday 18 December with over 40 tenants attending, to help tackle social isolation over the festive period.

The lunch which took place at Heslam Park in Scunthorpe between 12-3pm was organised for tenants who will be spending Christmas alone this year.

The lunch was part of our ‘12 days of Christmas’, which was a series of activities and fundraisers to support our tenants, local charities and other good causes.

Helen Wright, Support Manager here at Ongo, said: “The Big Christmas Lunch is always brilliant afternoon. It’s really nice to see our tenants and staff together enjoying a festive afternoon with a Christmas lunch and entertainment.

 “Reducing social isolation is really important to us, so events like this are a great way to make sure our tenants aren’t lonely.”

Carol Whittingham, one of our tenants said: “Today has been very enjoyable. It’s great to meet people in a nice friendly atmosphere.

“As you get older you’re more isolated, so events like this are really needed. They’re ideal for bringing people together”
