Bike project gets a new home

Bike project gets a new home Image

Our Bike Project, which offers unemployed people the chance to build a bike up from scratch for transport to job interviews, has a new home on Enderby Rd, Scunthorpe.

Originally set up in 2012 at Laneham Street, Scunthorpe, the project has supported more than 2,000 local people over the years with support, new skills and confidence building.

Enderby Rd provides more space, storage and better facilities so that the project can continue to run, with even more opportunities for volunteers.

Scott Stalgis, Volunteer Coordinator said: “When people come to us, some are ready to apply for work straight away and others feel they need more confidence up and more on their CV, so the bike project is perfect for that.

“Once bikes are built and road legal, they are used as transport to job interviews and even work, so it’s truly fantastic project to be involved in.”
