Celebrating Next Level success
On Wednesday 23 January 2020 we hosted a celebration event for the Next Level Project and Building Better Opportunities Programme, funded through the European Social Fund.
The event which saw over 50 people attend, showcased the excellent opportunities and support available through Ongo such as; Ongo Talk: our mental health service, training courses, volunteering and recruitment opportunities for everyone to utilise.
Maryanne Fitzgerald, Next Level Manager, said: “The main purpose of this event was to highlight the huge success of the Next Level Project and showcase to everyone we are a one stop shop for everything you need to get back into work.”
Through this project we have supported and mentored 831 people, many of which have successfully gained the right qualifications and training to help in further developing their careers.
Jonathan Potter is one of the many that has been successful in gaining employment with us through the project.
He said: “I started off with a placement as caretaker for the Neighbourhood Services team. I found this to be such an engaging role. Taking part in this project really does open doors for you.””
Jonathan successfully found work and then shortly after secured a job in the Neighbourhood Service Team when a vacancy opened up.
He continued: “From the skills I gained in my placement I was able update my CV and gain a new reference which has helped employers to recognise me.”
Throughout the day we had our various teams come and enjoy lunch, coffee and explain all of the opportunities that are available to local people looking to further their career.
Skymark Packaging recruitment manager, said: “Today’s event has been very informative I knew a little bit about Ongo Recruitment but I had no idea about the other services that are offered such as Ongo Talk.”
Skymark produce and print packaging materials and are one of the latest businesses that are using Ongo recruitment to gain clients. He continued saying: “Ongo Recruitment have made excellent efforts they’ve been really good at selecting clients for us.”
