Employment support event for over 50’s

On Thursday 11 October our Employment Support Team are hosting an event, in partnership with Age UK, to tie in with October’s International Day of Older Persons.

The event will be held at their brand new Cole Street office in Scunthorpe between 10am-2pm and is open to anyone over the age of 50 struggling with getting into employment, or progressing in their career.

There will be talks from the different projects within our Employment Support Team, North Lindsey College, Ongo Recruitment and Age UK, along with refreshments and a buffet lunch.

Hayley Cullen, Operations Manager at Employment Support said: “Lots of people we support over the age of 50 say they feel it’s harder for them to get the job they want. That’s why we want to tackle the stigma around employing older people and show how they can bring huge benefits to your business. 

“We offer loads of support to people looking for work which includes free training, CV building, interview techniques, volunteer opportunities and one to one support. We also have a project to help those in employment progress into a better paid job, so come along and find out how we can help you.”
