We are hosting an event to launch two new projects aimed at people looking to set up their own business, and organisations interested in hiring skilled volunteers.

The event will take place at The Arc in Scunthorpe on Tuesday 15 October, between 1-3pm. There’ll be free coffee, refreshments and information about how you can get involved.

The Sparc project, which has been set up to provide free advice to people in Scunthorpe wanting to become their own boss, will be showcasing what they offer and signing people up on the day.

Organisations interested in taking on a volunteer would benefit from attending this event. They will be able to hear about the training we provide to volunteers, and the huge amount of skilled professionals we place into organisations each year.

Scott Stalgis, Volunteer Coordinator said: “This event is really about getting the word out there about what we do, and creating new links with people.

“The service we offer is different to other organisations in the area, as all of our volunteers go through a full training package. This includes health and safety, equality and diversity, personal safety and professional boundaries.

“Everyone is welcome, from individuals wanting to set up their own company, to organisations looking to take on volunteers, or people wanting to get more training and experience for their CV. We can’t wait, and hope to see lots of you there.”
