Flood alert warning River Trent area (7/8 Dec)
The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for today (7 Dec) from 9am to 9pm and tomorrow (8 Dec) between 9am and 9pm in the following locations:
Alkborough Flats, Keadby, Amcotts, Owston, Burringham, Gunness, Althorpe, East Butterwick and Flixborough. Gunness Lane and Neap House road could also be affected.
High water levels can be expected 1 hour before and after the peak of the high tide. These particularly high tides are because of the naturally occurring astronomical tide cycle coinciding with a positive surge and large waves along the East Coast.
