Keys to 12 brand new apartments on Queensway, Scunthorpe have been handed over this month, after we partnered with Homes England to invest over £1.1million to regenerate the site.

The one bedroom apartments completely transform the area, making use of vacant, run down land between two existing buildings. They have been specially designed to tie in with these, and are part of our affordable rent stock.

Each apartment benefits from spacious, open plan living, with those on the ground floor incorporating level access and shower rooms.

The wider grounds has also seen a makeover with two new parking courts, bin stores, electric vehicle charging stations and landscaping for both new and existing residents to enjoy.

Elaine Drayton, one of the new tenants said: “We live in an Ongo house at the moment but have been looking to move from Brigg to Scunthorpe for around two years now, so when we were successful for an apartment we were over the moon.

“It’s just a much more convenient location for us, we’re nearer to family and everything we need now.

“The apartment itself is lovely and we’re excited that everything is brand new and there’s not lots to do when we move in. We can’t thank Ongo enough for their help, it’s been great.”

Amy Schoenmaker, Development Project Manager here at Ongo said: “We’re very pleased with the outcome of this project. The apartments look great and are a complete contrast to what was there before.

“Apartments are always in high demand for this area so it’s fantastic for us to be able to offer so many at once. We wish all of the new tenants the very best in their new home.”

GS Kelsey were the main contractors on site.
