Local community to name our new dementia extra care scheme

In February 2020, work started on our new £4.4million specialist dementia care scheme on Warwick Road, Scunthorpe.

But the development, which is made up of 25 two bedroom apartments and communal spaces for residents to socialise, has yet to be named. That’s why we’ve launched a competition where children under the age 16 can send us their creative ideas of a title.

A panel of judges made up or representatives from North Lincolnshire Council and Ongo will come together to decide upon the best name and a winner will be picked. They will also receive a £50 love to shop voucher and the chance to take a look round the scheme once it’s complete

Georgie McGuire, Ongo Development Project Manager said: “This is a great way to involve members of the local community with this project and we’re really excited that we’ve already had lots of fantastic suggestions.

“The building is specially designed for people living with a dementia diagnosis to support them and their families to live together for as long as possible, instead of moving into residential care and introducing unwelcome change. It will be a real life changer.”
