Doncaster based organisation M25 Housing and Support Group recently joined us and held a re-launch event on Friday 9 March to celebrate, with over 15 people attending.

The event was opened by Erika Stoddart, Director of Resources here at Ongo, who explained how the M25 Housing and Support Group has joined us, and their future plans now they’ve rebranded to become Ongo M25 Support Service.

Erika Stoddart, Director of Resources, said: “We’re really pleased that M25 has joined the Ongo partnership. The work they do supports our commitment to support local people and the community.

“The re-launch event was a brilliant opportunity to talk to businesses about how M25 will fit well within the Ongo partnership, and to discuss our future plans to continue helping vulnerable people in the Doncaster area.”

In October 2017, we took over the ownership and management of M25’s assets, including 13 properties in Doncaster which provide homes for up to 50 homeless people. The eight employees currently working for M25 also transferred over.

MP Rosie Winterton was also a guest speaker at the event to talk about why it is a vital service for vulnerable people living in the Doncaster region.

Dame Rosie Winterton, said: “There are many reasons why someone might become homeless and the challenges facing them are often complex.  The re-launch of Ongo M25 combines both organisations’ expertise, to provide an accommodation and support service that will make such a difference to people’s lives here in Doncaster.”

The service delivers accommodation and support services to 50 people affected by homelessness 365 days a year. The services are innovative and personalised providing small units of shared accommodation that are all based at the heart of local communities in the Doncaster area.
