More Rent to Buy homes snapped up in Scunthorpe
Keys to eight brand new homes have been handed over today on Lancaster Road, Scunthorpe, with eight more in the pipeline.
The homes, which have taken the place of the Ashby Star pub, are exclusively Rent to Buy, and are a mix of 16 two and three-bedroom homes in total.
Living in a Rent to Buy property means that for the first five years, tenants pay less than market rent – to allow time to save towards a deposit. It’s a national initiative to support people to get on the property ladder that do not have enough saved.
All homes have been carefully thought out with upgraded finishes, private turfed garden, off road parking, with electric vehicle charging points, and spacious living areas.
Georgie McGuire, one of our Development Project Managers said: “Rent to Buy is something we first introduced to the area this year and it has gone down an absolute storm.
“We understand just how difficult it can be, especially in current circumstances, to get a deposit saved, so we’re really proud to offer this product.
“They bring a fresh new look to the area with a modern design and much needed places for local families to live. These homes are all under offer, but please look out for more Rent to Buy options from us in the future.”
Ryan Payne who moved into one the homes with his family today commented: “We rented before and without this option of paying less to save up a deposit, we would have definitely struggled to buy.
“This house is not only bigger, in a nicer area and perfect for our little family, but it gives us the option of actually getting on the property ladder, which is what we’ve always wanted.
“It’s just perfect for us and we can’t wait to get settled in.”
We have funded the homes, along with Homes England and MFM Developments Ltd are the appointed builders on site.
The second and final phase of the site is due for completion in November this year, where the final eight homes will be handed over.
