My case study – Josh Walsh

Name: Josh Walsh

Job title: Plumbing and Gas Apprentice

Team: Hales and Coultas

When you joined Hales and Coultas: 2021

As part of our Apprenticeship Week celebrations, we hear from Josh Walsh one of our current apprentices.

Tell us a bit about your role and why an apprenticeship appealed to you?

I am a Plumbing and Gas Apprentice at Hales and Coultas, and I am in my third year. My role consists of all the work engineers are doing, due to my training so far.

The apprenticeship appealed to me as I always wanted to get into a trade and be hands on with work.

What advice would you give someone considering an apprenticeship?

To apply themselves and do it, especially if the apprenticeship is something they want to do! They should also be confident and listen as much as they can from the people around them.

If you had one sentence to describe your apprenticeship, what would it be?

It’s interesting, as it’s something different. It’s fun but also hard and rewarding work.
