Sam’s fish & chip shop is the latest business venture to open at our new development in Westcliff, Scunthorpe.

The shop will be run by Navjit Singh, 29 of Scunthorpe, and will be the third eatery owned by the family to open in the area.

Due to open on 10 September, it will trade seven days a week from 11.30am-9.00pm and will be the fourth shop to open at the brand new Lichfield Parade development, alongside One Stop, Coop Pharmacy and Heidi’s Hair & Beauty salon.

The retail area is part of a £9million project that in total will see 41 new homes, five retail units, a large One Stop convenience store, post office and The Arc.

Pete Stones, Director of Regeneration, said: “We’re really excited to see the progress of this project, and it’s brilliant to see young local business people such as Navjit opening businesses in the Westcliff area.

“This project will inject a new lease of life and energy into the area, providing shops and community spaces for everyone. A fish and chip shop was something the community asked for, so we’re thrilled to have been able to provide one in this project.

Navjit Singh, who will be running the fish & chip shop, said: “It has been great to be part of such an excellent regeneration scheme for Westcliff, and the development will have a positive impact on the whole community. Ongo has done an excellent job and we aim to follow this up by serving the community some excellent fish and chips.”

The Arc and other shops opened earlier in 2018, and there is still one retail unit available for rent. If any local business people are interested they should get in touch with us directly by calling 01724 279900 or emailing enquiries@ongo.co.uk
