A total of 24 brand new homes have been handed over to new tenants on Froddingham Road in Scunthorpe.

Formerly Crosby Primary School, the site was demolished in 2017 after the school moved location. This made way for much needed investment and family homes in the area.

The site consists of eight two-bedroom homes, 12 three-bedroom homes and four four-bedroom homes, all of which are for affordable rent. They are located in Scunthorpe’s town centre so are close to shops, schools, travel links and amenities.

All homes come with a modern kitchen and bathroom, private, turfed rear gardens and off road parking. The four-bedroom properties are built over three floors and have a large bedroom on the top floor, complete with en-suite.

Georgie McGuire, Development Project Manager said: “These homes are just fantastic and bring a real fresh and inviting feel to that part of town.

“Four bedroom homes are not included in all of our developments so it’s great to be able to offer those in particular to larger families.

“Everything from the way they fit into their surroundings, to parking and features within the home have been thought about and we’re very proud to see people enjoying them.”

The homes were built in phases by Moores Facilities Management (MFM), meaning some tenants moved into their homes in May. Plots 1-10 were then finalised and keys handed over this month.

Daniel Richardson moved into his new home with partner Sarah and their nine-month old daughter in May. When asked about his new home he said:  “It’s a great opportunity for us – not only is it spacious and has a nice garden to sit and play in, but it’s very close to where I work and we have family support nearby

“It didn’t take us long to settle in, it’s absolutely fantastic being here and having caring neighbours has been a big plus point.

“A few others have young families as well, which has helped us get to know one another, and I feel that there’s a strong sense of community already here.”

Funding for this project was awarded by Homes England and us, as part of our commitment to deliver hundreds of new homes each year.
