The Arc in Westcliff will be hosting a ‘New year, new you’ event on Tuesday 22 January to help people wanting to kick start 2019 to be their best year yet.

The aim of the event is for people to think about the year ahead and what they’d like to get out of the year, and how staff at The Arc and other organisations can help these goals be achieved.

Running from 12.30pm-4.30pm, there will be a variety of activities and sessions running throughout the afternoon around fitness, living a healthy lifestyle, saving money and mindfulness.

Along with staff from The Arc and our staff, there will also be Scunthorpe Museum hosting a ‘reminiscence hour’ which will see the museum bringing ancient artefacts to The Arc for people to learn about. North Lincolnshire Council’s Adult Education will be offering zen doodle drawings and mindfulness sessions, North Lincolnshire Council will be holding chair based exercises and will be giving sessions on healthy eating and how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Fran Rhodes, Community Regeneration Coordinator, said: “We’re really excited about this event and hope to see lots of people coming along to see how we can support them to live their best life in 2019.

“The event is open to anyone, so if you’re interested in anything happening during the afternoon, just drop in to The Arc. You don’t need to pre-book, you can just turn up on the day.”
