40 new homes in Winterton

We have announced plans to build 40 brand new homes in Winterton, as part of a huge £5.2 million development project.

Plans include a mix of two and three-bedroom homes and bungalows for affordable rent, and rent to buy.

Living in a rent to buy property means that for the first five years, tenants pay less than market rent, to allow time to save towards a deposit. It’s a national initiative to support people to get on the property ladder that do not have enough saved.

So far this has been hugely successful, with all of our tenants in this type of home on track to buy at the end.

Located just south of Coates Avenue in Winterton, the area is set to be regenerated with much needed family homes, specially designed to complement the look of the area.

Our commitment to the environment will be demonstrated with a substantial amount of green space and professional landscaping, along with bird and bat boxes, hedgehog protection, planting and aftercare of native trees, hedgerows and shrubs of high biodiversity value.

Each home will also be fitted with modern kitchen and bathrooms, off road parking, private rear gardens, full fibre broadband and all bungalows will have wet rooms.

Partner Construction are the main appointed contractors for this scheme, with work kicking off on site this month, and completion expected around March 2023.

Georgie McGuire, Development Project Manager here at Ongo said: “We’re delighted to announce this project and cannot wait to get started.

“Bungalows are in high demand across the region, so being able to build 12 of them in Winterton is fantastic and we expect them to be very popular.

“Following on from our huge success with Rent to Buys, there are 15 on this site which we are so excited about. We hope they will be as successful, giving people the opportunity to get on the housing ladder, but in a more rural location.”

Funding to deliver this scheme has been provided by us and Homes England.

Frank Lincoln, Regional Managing Director at Partner Construction, said: “I would like to thank everyone involved in getting this project through to this stage, and look forward to seeing construction progress.

“Working closely with Ongo, we are going to provide the local area with much needed new homes and ensure that together we create a lasting boost to the community.”
