On Wednesday 7 August, we are hosting our annual free carnival in Scunthorpe and everyone is welcome.

Starting at 11am until 3.30pm, the event taking place at Manor Park, Burringham Road in Scunthorpe will be free of charge for all to attend.

Last year over 2,500 people visited the carnival, and 2019 is set to be even bigger and better, with more activities to get involved in.

There will be bouncy castles, inflatables, soft play and stalls including a coconut shy and hook a duck. There will also be demonstrations from local groups such as Ruby Twirl Stars, Field of Dreams dog display and Scunthorpe & District Pipe Band. You will also be able to take part in a circus workshop, donkey rides go karts, face painting, donkey rides and the Purple Pig Company will be coming with a selection of animals to pet.

You’ll also be able to chat to our staff and visit their various information stands, as well as other local organisations including North Lincolnshire Council, The Arc, North Lindsey College and Healthwatch.

Food vans will also be at the event where you can purchase food and drinks, or you could bring along your own picnic.

Nichola Hunt, organiser of the event, said: “The carnival is always a day we really look forward to. It’s amazing to see so many local people turning out for a fun, free day out with friends and family.

“There will be so much to see and do, and something for all ages from soft play for the little ones, face painting, circus workshops and lots of brilliant demonstrations to watch to name just a few.

“Last year was a fantastic turnout, and we’re hoping to top it this year. We can’t wait to see you there.”
