North Lincolnshire Council has awarded our recruitment team a contract to deliver their aim of continuing to provide quality care across the region.

The contract is focused on recruitment and retention within the care sector, and forms a part of the Proud to Care initiative. There is a national requirement to address workforce capacity pressures within this sector, due to a reduction of available workers entering the sector.

Ongo Recruitment were awarded a four month initial contract, starting in December 2021, after their ongoing Appropriate Adults contract was hailed a huge success.

So far over 200 applicants have been screened, with 16 now employed and a further 34 trained and ready to be placed within organisations.

The project includes working with the registered care providers of North Lincolnshire Council to help strengthen their recruitment reach, advertise vacancies and most importantly attract new talent.

The Proud to Care Recruitment Hub operates from our Cole Street office with candidates benefitting from a two week paid induction programme. This include required learning to work in the sector, along with job shadowing.

Richard Green, Ongo Recruitment Manager said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract as we understand the importance of the issue and are dedicated to making a difference.

“As well as working on a national scale, our core beliefs as a business fall within investing in our local area, so it makes sense to be leading on this and we’re very proud to do so.

“We want to attract more candidates and showcase the great opportunities available locally, championing the hugely important role care workers play in our communities.

“The team are doing weekly outreach at various locations in Scunthorpe, so if you see us out and about please don’t hesitate to come and chat with us.”

Cllr Richard Hannigan, cabinet member for adults and health at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We continue to work closely with Ongo to recruit compassionate and committed people to care roles across North Lincolnshire.

“Starting a career in care is not only hugely rewarding, there are also lots of fantastic benefits exclusively available to North Lincolnshire care workers, including free childcare and access to health and wellbeing memberships.

“If you want a job where you can make a massive difference to the lives of local people, visit the Proud to Care website to find all the latest opportunities and helpful advice in one place.”
