Ongo summer of fun

We’ve provided more than 20 summer events for families to get involved in across North Lincolnshire.

The Arc in Westcliff, Scunthorpe held healthy eating cookery sessions, a game of rounders, craft activities, gym classes, bus trips and a mobile petting zoo, which was the most popular event.

Viking Resource Centre in Barton had a jam-packed timetable too, with a trip to Normanby Hall, picnic in the park, a sports day, build your own bowling alley, bouncy castles and two more bus trips.

In total almost 150 people benefited from the sessions, most of which were completely free of charge.

Jemma Akers, Youth Mentor, said: “These activities are so important, especially during the summer holidays when more often than not, children have not much else to do.

“We do loads of work throughout the year to improve neighbourhoods and engage with the communities we work in, so for me it’s been great to see them come together and build relationships.

“We’d love to see more of you, so if you’d like to get involved in events, training or housing and employment support, come in and chat to us.”
