Over 150 Ongo customers to access life changing support, thanks to free laptops

The initiative, which helps customers take part in skills, employment, mental health and personal development sessions remotely, has grown significantly following generous donations from partner organisations and our own commitment to digital inclusion.

In total Wilkin Chapman Rollits has donated 10 laptops, SureServe three more, McIntyre a further five and we are recycling and repurposing 100 of our old devices.

As we continue expanding our services into new areas, offering flexible and accessible ways for local people to engage has become increasingly important. Nearly 40 people have already benefited from laptop loans this year, giving them access to essential services when attending in‑person appointments is not possible.

For many, barriers such as travel costs, limited mobility, health challenges, or personal circumstances can make access difficult. Providing laptops helps ensure people can get the help they need, when they need it.

This initiative is part of our community outreach work, where community teams deliver support directly within neighbourhoods and local spaces to tenants and the wider community. By offering both face to face and remote options, teams can ensure that nobody is excluded from the services which could help change their life.

“From counselling sessions to advice and guidance on getting into work, these donations will make a real difference and we’re incredibly grateful for their generosity.”
