Proud to Care contract extended
Ongo Recruitment’s partnership with North Lincolnshire Council to deliver their aim of providing quality care across the region, has been extended for a further 12 months.
The contract, which has been extended once previously, started in December 2021 and focuses on recruitment and retention within the care sector, as part of the Proud to Care initiative.
Currently there is a national requirement to address workforce capacity pressures within this sector, due to a reduction of available workers.
So far, the team at Ongo Recruitment has screened over 500 applications, with 72 people now employed full time and another 10-20 trained every month and ready to be placed in organisations across North Lincolnshire.
Proud to Care now also gives employment opportunities to those unable to work full time. A brand-new agency bank has been created to offer part time hours, as well as relief work to cover holidays and sickness. This means there will be options suitable for more people looking to get into work.
The bank will offer the same training to provide employees with the skills required. It will also be available for people already skilled in care and looking to get back to work or take a part time or additional job.
When asked about the bank, Carl Willerton, Ongo Recruitment Manager, said: “This a fantastic opportunity for people who are unable to work full-time to gain employment in the care sector.
“We are excited to be working with North Lincolnshire Council, local domiciliary care providers and care homes to help with recruitment, as we know it’ll make such a huge difference.
“We’re also very pleased to offer a £300 payment to every individual completing their training and starting work. So if you’re interested in working in the care sector, please do get in touch.”
The Proud to Care Recruitment Hub operates from the team’s office on Cole Street, Scunthorpe, with candidates benefitting from a 30-hour induction programme. This includes required learning to work in the sector, along with job shadowing.
