The Arc in Scunthorpe hosted a re-launch party on Friday 10 September, introducing a new menu and even more opportunities for local people to get involved in.

The Arc is a well-being hub offering services to all ages including employment and training support, benefit advice, events and youth activities. There’s also a café, Post Office, free Wi-Fi and rooms to hire.

Over 45 people attended on the day, enjoying a free buffet, prize draw and activities for all ages. There were also opportunities to sign up to projects aimed at getting people into work, provide mental health support, mentoring and training.

Along with representatives from Ongo, partners from Humberside Police and Westcliff Community Works also attended to promote their services.

Vicky Bradshaw our Arc Coordinator, said: “We wanted to re-launch The Arc after Covid-19 forced our closure. Since then we have changed our menu, revamped the building and really looked at what we can offer the community.

“We’re hoping the event will reinforce the message that we want to help the community. I’m really thankful to those who have stuck by us through these difficult times and came along to support.”

Emma Smith who attended said: “There’s a lot of different people here that are showing what goes on at the Arc and how much they have to offer.

“Since I’ve been coming to The Arc I do all sorts now from volunteering at events, helping out with coffee groups and natter mornings, and the arts and craft group.”

This is just one of the many events the team at The Arc host for local people. To find out more about The Arc or how you can get involved in their activities, follow them on social media or head to their website: www.arcwestcliff.co.uk.
