We have been shortlisted for ‘Excellence in the Community Award’

We have been shortlisted in the ‘Excellence in Community Award’ category at this year’s Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards, for delivering their promise of reinvesting into local neighbourhoods and making a difference.

The awards bring together organisations to celebrate their success and showcase talent within the region. With 12 categories, the event is set to be held at Grimsby Auditorium on Thursday 16 May

The ‘Excellence in Community Award’ requires businesses to demonstrate a commitment to its customers and give evidence of being a good neighbour. They must also show they have a proactive plan to engage with and develop a sustainable local community.

Highlighted within our application are our community centres, offering warm spaces, foodbanks, activities, events, and a safe place that everyone is welcome to access.

Our training, employment, financial and mental health support, along with youth mentoring and a host of wellbeing activities was also included, along with our Community Grants programme.  To date this has awarded over £200,000 to local groups.

Last year in total, we delivered a huge £15.15 of social value for every £1 spent.

Jan Williams, Head of Opportunities said: “Receiving the news we’d been shortlisted was fantastic and I’m so proud that the work we’ve done, and continue to do, is being recognised.

“The team work so hard to improve lives and be there for people in our communities. For many, the safe and warm spaces, free food, crucial mental health counselling and other support offered, it’s a lifeline.

“I’m honoured and feel very lucky to work with so many amazing people, who are passionate about helping others.”

Nominated within the same category is New Showground CIC and Projekt Renewable.
