Spooktacular success

Over the last week we have hosted a series of free spooky events across the region for all ages to get in on.

With five events across Scunthorpe and Barton upon Humber, local families were spoilt for choice of frightening fun to get involved in.

From pumpkin carving, mini zoo, pumpkin picking and spooky discos to eat, drink and be scary at, there was something to suit all.

Check out the full list below:

The Arc in Scunthorpe:

  • Tuesday 24 – Spooky stem
  • Wednesday 25 – Pumpkin carving and hotdogs
  • Friday 27 – Outdoor scavenger ghost hunt

The Viking Centre in Barton upon Humber:

  • Tuesday 25 – Halloween Family Bingo and Chicken dinner
  • Tuesday 31 – Halloween Disco

Sharna, who lives in Barton took her children to The Viking Centre’s Halloween party commented: “I moved from London in 2020 so from a big city it was very different. I come to the Viking Centre every week for baby group and their tea club; it’s like a lifeline for children around here and it gives them something to do.

“I’ve met lots of people up here now because of the Viking Centre, and my children love it.”

Chantelle, who also attended the Halloween party said: “I come every week here, I’ve met so many new friends and my children enjoy the different activities, such as the youth club, and of course, the Halloween party! I go to the bingo too, and as a family we love the trips – our favourite was when we visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

“One thing they do great is catering for allergies. My friend’s baby is dairy free and they are so accommodating, so those with allergies get to enjoy nice things to eat too.”

Thank you to everyone who got involved in planning and hosting Halloween events, it went down a treat!
