Steve Hepworth steps up to become the Chief Executive today (Monday 9 April 2018).

Steve, who has been one of our directors since our formation in 2007, takes over from Andy Orrey, who has retired after nine years in the top job.

A familiar face in the industry, Steve has worked his way to the role of Chief Executive having started his social housing career as a housing officer 27 years ago with Wakefield District Council.

After moving to North Lincolnshire Council in 2000, he led the team responsible for consultations with tenants that resulted, in 2007, in the transfer of 10,000 homes from the council to Ongo (then known as North Lincolnshire Homes).

In taking on the leadership role, Steve has pledged to build on our track record in working closely with tenants to provide the highest quality homes and landlord services.

“One of my first tasks will be to get out and about, listening to staff, tenants and partners and working with them to create a strong plan for the future.

“I am lucky to have worked for Ongo for the last 11 years and so I know how committed and passionate the teams are about the work they do in helping people in their everyday lives. We also have a strong tenant group in Community Voice which is massively influential in the operational running of our business.

“I already know the ambition of the staff and board to continue to invest in the people and places within North Lincolnshire which is why I am delighted to have been offered this role.

“I know there is a lot of hard work to be done but I am confident in the abilities of those who work for, and with, Ongo that we can make lasting improvements in our communities.”
