Take a tour of Myos House, Scunthorpe’s only dementia care scheme, this November
People interested in dementia-friendly living are being invited to discover everything Myos House has to offer at a special open day on Monday 23 November.
Myos House, located on Warwick Road in Scunthorpe, offers specialist accommodation designed to help people living with dementia remain as independent as possible, while providing access to tailored care and support when needed.
The event will give visitors the opportunity to learn more about the award-winning scheme, meet the team behind the care and support provided at Myos House, and explore the facilities available to residents.
Visitors are being asked to book onto one of three dedicated sessions, helping to create a more personal experience and allowing plenty of time to ask questions. Available session times are:
- 10am to 11am
- 11.30am to 12.30pm
- 1.30pm to 2.30pm
Each session will include a chat with the North Lincolnshire Council team who provide care and a guided tour of the building, with a look around one of the apartments.
This will give people the opportunity to experience first-hand what life at Myos House is like and decide whether it could be the right option for themselves or a loved one.
In addition, a dedicated information event will take place at 3pm for care sector professionals, to gain a better understanding of how their clients and patients could benefit from the building and support provided.
Sam Archer, Specialist Housing Manager at Ongo said: “Myos House provides a unique environment where people living with dementia can enjoy independent living while having access to the care and support they need.
“These open day sessions are a great opportunity for individuals, families and professionals to see for themselves, meet the team and find out more about the support available.”
Anyone wishing to attend must book in advance by emailing myos.house@ongo.co.uk or calling the team on 07717 586466.
