Take a tour of Myos House

Colleagues and residents at Myos House (our dementia care scheme) are inviting the local community and partner agencies to their open day on Thursday 23 November.

Taking place between 1-4pm, individuals are invited to go along and learn more about what the building and team can provide for people living with a dementia diagnosis.

There will be colleagues on hand to chat to and ask questions, tours of the building and its features, access to an apartment, and the chance to network and socialise. Light refreshments will be provided.

Anita Catley, our Dementia Scheme Officer said: “We’re delighted to be opening our doors and welcoming people inside.

“I think sometimes people may not fully understand what we offer here at Myos, so it’ll be great to show them and answer any questions they may have.

“Although we are a specialist building and have facilities to care for those living here, our emphasis is on independent living, with care tailored to meet the needs of an individual.

“We’re not a care home. Some people live here and don’t need any additional help, but it can be arranged when and if they do.

“If you’d like to find out more for yourself or a loved one, please do come along and meet us, we’re all very friendly and would love to get the message out as far and wide as possible.”

Myos House opened in 2021 as the first of its kind building in the area. It has 25 apartments, social amenities, and communal spaces, and has over the years been recognised for the difference it has made to the community.
