A volunteer group in Winterton are making a huge difference to their community with support, advice and events for the whole family.

Grangefield Committee, which has been running since 2015, is made up of eight members from the area. They are supported by us and Winterton 2022, but membership and involvement is completely voluntary.

Every Tuesday between 9:30-11:30am, they run a drop in session at Sir John Mason House, De Lacy Way in Winterton where they provide toys, arts and crafts, drinks, snacks and entertainment for all ages. They work closely with local agencies and provide help and support for people living in the area too, so that any issues within their neighbourhood can be resolved.

In the last 12 months they’ve run bus trips to Skegness and York, they have held family Easter, Halloween and Christmas themed fun, and have supported a Neighbourhood tidy up event.

Sandra Salmon, Customer Engagement Officer said: “The Grangefield Committee are a fantastic example of community spirit, and are a pleasure to work with.

“The work they do in their area is invaluable and we are so thankful. We will continue to work with them, and can’t wait to see what they do in the future.”

Tish Westbrook, who is one of the longest serving members of the Grangefield Committee said: “We love providing activities that bring people together to chat and meet their neighbours. It helps with raising any issues, resolving them and making where we live a better place.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the people and agencies that keep our group going, and would love to see more of you. It’s open to anyone in the area, so come along and get involved.”
