We are celebrating national Employability Day, with two events for local business and people looking to get into work or training.

Thousands of organisations across the UK are expected to take part in Employability Day, to showcase the support they offer to those looking for work, and promote how people can sign up and access it.

The first of our events will take place at The Arc in Westcliff on 27 June, between 9am-12pm. It’s a chance for anyone that’s out of work to drop in and chat about jobs and training that is available to them.

There will be members of our Employment Support Team, who specialise in support and training, Ongo Recruitment, who work with businesses to place people into jobs, and other agencies including North Lindsey College, and The British Army Reserves.

The next event, on Friday 28 June, will take place at our Cole Street office in Scunthorpe between 10am-2pm. It’s aimed at local businesses that would like to find out more about what we offer, and anyone looking to get into training, work or progress in their career.

This is also a drop in event, where there will be a chance to ask questions, get information and find out more about what the team do.

Jemma Akers, Youth Mentor said: “National Employability Day is a great opportunity for us to let people know about what support is out there for them, and how they can access it. Whether that’s through mental health support, training, applying for jobs or building a CV.

“We have a huge range of projects to make sure there’s support for everyone, and we’d love to get more people signed up, so please come along if you think we can help.”
